Greetings, fellow Earthlings...
Well, it all started when I bought my first actual comic books.
I live in India, where we don't have specialized comic book stores. Not even in used book stores! The only place where I could actually get comics was in those high-class bookstore chains, where they were priced exorbitantly. Luckily I found this store where I found this huge stack of old comics (which also gave my pocket money some rest :P)
I don't remember my exact age then, but I can sure remember what I felt after reading it!
I was totally amazed by the forceful strokes, the dynamic style, and of course, the supercool superheroes. I was hooked immediately. By then I had already developed the skill of cartooning (with self-taught methods :P). So I said, 'Why not try this out?' and I started copying sketches of superheroes from those comics.
I'm in my late teens now. I now know that I want to do something in the art field (well, duh!), especially the cartooning/graphic novels field. What I didn't know was how to actually begin, how to get to know some people in this field, how to showcase my skills as an artist; basically how to say 'Hey, people of the world! I can draw! Look!'
I tried out sharing my stuff on social networks, but it was limited cause it only reached to my friends. While they gave me lots of compliments, they couldn't help me share it worldwide :(
That's when i came up with "A sketcher's world", my very own art blog, where I could do all the above stuff! <(^_^)> It felt pretty cool...
